“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV
Springtime is our annual reminder of beauty from God that He is always at work doing a new thing. Hear God's message to you in Isaiah: yes, God has done great wonders in your past, you have many blessings to be thankful for, the Lord has used you in many powerful ways—but He's not done with you yet! We cannot be content with past times of serving the Lord and former spiritual victories, for God is a God moving forward, always nudging us along to take greater spiritual strides as He does a “new thing" in our lives. God reminded the people back in verse 16 that He was the One who led them through the Red Sea, but in verse 19, He proclaims, You ain't seen nothin' yet! So take a moment to sit in the porch swing and reflect on the faithfulness of God; recount the moments of victory He has proclaimed in your life. Then get up and get ready, stay rooted and grounded in the Word of God, and start looking expectantly for the new growth, the “new thing" that God is doing; shall you not know it?
